Clifton Suspension Bridge
Repair and restoration of an internationally famous landmark.
Brunel’s famous wrought iron bridge spans 210m and was completed in 1864.
Dorothea Restorations has carried out repair and renewal of structural stanchions and other mechanical works over several years, often working underneath the bridge at a height of 70m above the River Avon.
Most recently we have manufactured and fitted a new steel access door to
the brick bridge piers following the discovery of the large open chambers
inside. We are also currently manufacturing new security grilles for the arched openings to the bridge towers to prevent people climbing up and demonstrating on the bridge.
