Rebuilding a roof dome.
As part of the Regent Quarter regeneration project in London’s
Kings Cross, Dorothea Restorations was asked
to repair and rebuild a glass dome.

The original dome was dismantled and examined – all that could be retained was the wooden and steel framework. This was cleaned and painted, ith some wood being repaired.
The entire dome was then rebuilt with new curved laminate glass on a new steel base ring. As always with roof domes, the key challenge throughout was to ensure lasting waterproofing.
