Pontcysyllte Aqueduct

Repairs to cast iron troughs.

The aqueduct was constructed by Thomas Telford to carry the Llangollen canal over the valley of the River Dee, near Wrexham.  It was completed in 1805.

Dorothea Restorations, working in conjunction with other contractors for British Waterways, carried out a series of repairs to the cast iron troughs that form the water channel, including replacing the large cast iron bolts with hand forged wrought iron replicas and re-caulking the trough joints.
