18th July 2015

Holywells Park Orangery was officially been re-opened on the 18th of July 2015 the Orangery has been described "As a stunning meeting Place"

The Victorian Orangery had been boarded up for many years, but has now undergone a complete restoration with the help from National Lottery Funding. The corrugated boarding has been removed and light now floods into the beautiful building.

Dorothea Restorations undertook the restoration of all timber work, wrought iron and the reinstatement of the historic crown glass within the structure. The sash windows and roof light restorations were carried out off-site and all winding mechanisms were restored to their original condition.

All the new crown glass had to be toughened and a bespoke template were used to create the circular toughened panes installed above the double doors. The restoration work took six months and was completed within programme.
