Quarry Bank Mill Glasshouse Update

1st August 2016

Since my first Blog on our progress at Quarry Bank Mill Glasshouse work has been very busy over the summer months. All the missing sections have been recast and all elements have been primed ready for painting.

Many hours have been spent hand painting the many hundreds of glazing bars. The domed structure was assembled in our workshop in Bristol before being dismantled and transferred back to site for reassembling. The newly restored centre section looks wonderful gleaming white and has been re-glazed by the glaziers.

The wings to left and right are awaiting the sash windows. The site looks truly transformed and will look amazing when complete.

National Trust visitors have been able to follow the progress of the project on site through spy holes in the wooden hoarding, and I am sure they are looking forward to the grand reveal.
